Mindshift's holdings are best entered through a crowd, the plasma miniPod, where clusters of brightly coloured pixel creatures, each with many legs and conspicuous square eyes, repeat across a pale green field.2 The token is recorded as a GIF, so the picture shown here is one held moment from a looping animation rather than the whole work.2 That matters, because miniPODs as a release consists of animated images in which podGAN creatures gather into groups, and a still can only suggest a colony that was made to move.3 Even frozen, the arrangement resists a single focal point, since the pale ground offers no separation between one cluster and the next, so the eye takes in the population before settling on any individual, and the square eyes become the main punctuation in a soft swarm of colour.2

The credits on this work need care. The release is credited to Van Arman x Mindshift x ricky, while the token's own Artist field names Pindar Van Arman, and this essay follows the token for attribution while keeping the shared release credit in view.2,4 The name on the collector's profile, mindshift.eth, also appears among the three names on that release, an overlap the sources record without explaining.5,6 They do not establish who produced this particular token or how it came to the wallet.6 What they do record is a transfer of the work to this wallet on 26 January 2023.7 That is months after the edition was minted and sent out to its first recipients in August 2022.3 A transfer documents receipt, and nothing supplied shows whether it followed a sale, a gift or any decision by the holder.7 The wallet also held a podGAN from the parent edition, so the crowd in this picture sat in the same collection as an example of the solitary creature it multiplies.8,3

Xander Steenbrugge's One reality impinging on another, from DreamScapes, belongs to a different order of picture altogether.9 Sweeping red, orange and dark green forms overlap a bright opening in a tall composition.9 It is a portrait-format PNG, and DreamScapes is an edition of still images, so what is reproduced here is the work in full, with no hidden motion behind it.9,10 The release frames its pictures as AI renderings of the worlds people pass through in sleep.11 Here the title carries much of the interpretation, which suits a release where scene names act as captions in place of descriptive traits.10 Read against that title, the bright opening becomes the second reality pressing through, and the overlapping bands of warm colour and dark green look less like landscape than like membranes being pushed aside.9

The dated transfers give this wallet a shape in time. The DreamScapes picture was transferred to the wallet on 11 December 2021.12 DreamScapes had been released on 10 December 2021, so this work arrived the day after the edition appeared.10,12 The miniPOD transfer came more than a year later.7,12 On this evidence the wallet's documented BrainDrops story opens with a dream picture and only later takes in the pod creatures linked by credit to the Mindshift name.6,7,12 Both records describe arrival, not acquisition, and neither tells us whether the holder sought the work, paid for it or simply received it.7,12

The third work, Mallory was First by Obvious, comes from Dream Capsules, and the token record identifies the still as a PNG.13 A standing figure and a snow-covered mountain appear inside a round, blue-rimmed view set against black.13 That circular window is the series' recurring frame, a glowing sphere in a dark field with a scene held inside it, each labelled as a dream or a nightmare.14 Obvious presents the series as a body of dreams generated with AI.15 This capsule is tagged as a rare nightmare with a joyful emotion, and its accompanying text tells of standing on the world's highest summit on a cold night while feeling warm and content inside a heavy coat.13 The picture supports the contentment more than the dread, since the lone figure and the white peak carry no visible threat, and the nightmare seems to live in the black surround and the isolation of the height.13 The capsule appears among the wallet's holdings, but no dated transfer is supplied for it, so its place in the wallet's history stays open.8

Seen whole, the wallet at the BD5D snapshot is broad rather than deep.8 It reaches from the earliest BrainDrops releases, including podGANs, to much later projects, and for most of them it holds a single work.8,3 Several Dream Capsules works sit alongside substantial groups from Confluence and Fake Feelings.8,14 Obvious and Xander Steenbrugge both set out to picture dreams. The presence of their work in this wallet makes it possible to compare how a written dream and a guided vision take shape on screen.11,14,12 The collaborative miniPOD then stands as a single entry from a release whose credit shares a name with the collector's profile.8,5,4

What lingers after the timeline is a smaller thing. In the plasma miniPod each creature's eyes are square, hard-edged marks in bodies that otherwise sprawl on many legs, and across the pale green field those eyes repeat like a scatter of tiny lit windows.2
