Different ways of making.

The inaugural releases already offered different relationships between artists and machines: Gene Kogan’s looping videos, Pindar Van Arman’s GAN-generated creatures, and Claire Silver’s curated visual narrative. Later projects extended the catalogue into audio, three-dimensional animation and post-photography.

These are histories of AI-assisted works distributed on Ethereum. Their media and models are not necessarily stored or executed on-chain. The archive records technical processes where artists document them, without inferring an undisclosed model from an image’s appearance.

DreamScapes identifies a VQGAN+CLIP pipeline; Materia Mania foregrounds diffusion artefacts; Life In West America describes custom-trained models. These distinct methods offer a more useful history than treating all AI images as one process.
